Rocky Credit Union 2019 Election to Board of Directors

Pursuant to the Credit Union Act and the Bylaws of Rocky Credit Union Ltd., elections will be held for two director positions, both for a 3 year term. The elections will be held in the credit union branch at 5035 49 Street on the following dates:

Advance polls will be open in the branch during regular hours on January 17.

Regular election dates will be January 23 - 25 during regular branch hours.

The Election Committee has accepted the following nominations:

     Linda Fredine - I am a member of the Rocky Credit Union; holding that membership for over 30 years, I own and operate a small business in town and have a cow/calf operation east of town. I have many years’ experience with board governance. Over time I have sat as a director or president of many associations and have a clear knowledge and understanding of how Boards operate. I have a level 2 Board Development Certificate from Federated Co-op. I would like to contribute further to the growth of our community by ensuring the continued effective governance of our Credit Union.

    Carson Stewart - I have been a life-long resident of Rocky Mountain House and member of Rocky Credit Union for 20 plus years.  I currently own and operate 2 small businesses.  My training includes a business diploma in Accounting and Financial Management, and many Credit Union CUDA courses.  I am committed to keeping Rocky Credit Union thriving.

  Evangeline (Lynn) Webster - I have lived in Rocky Mountain House since 2009 and continue to enjoy the area and the people in it. I have worked in many industries form Regulatory & Governance to Oil & Gas, Construction and small mom & pop shops and hold 3 Post-Secondary designations specializing in Credit & Risk. I believe that people should be communicated with and educated about all aspects of finance and credit where they are seeking information and we should do what we can in our own communities to help each other grow and succeed. I would like to use my expertise and experience to serve my community and do my part to ensure that the Rocky Credit Union is governed effectively with its members as priority and would be honoured to receive your vote.

Rules for voting:

  • Adult members (over 18 years of age) in good standing as at the close of business on December 31, 2018 shall be eligible to vote.
  • Voting privileges are allowed for corporations, organizations, associations, societies or groups if they have passed a resolution choosing a voting representative. A member may not vote by proxy.
  • A member’s right to vote is not transferable or assignable.

           There are two Board of Director positions available.

  • Each member may vote once for each position.
  • In the case of a joint account, voting privileges shall be allowed to both members.

Results of the election will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on February 11, 2019.
