About the Board

Rocky Credit Union's Board of Directors is comprised of seven members who are democratically elected by the membership. Each director is elected for a three-year term, and can serve up to three consecutive terms. Annually, the Board of Directors appoints a president and a vice-president. Directors are appointed annually to governance committees. The Board of Directors is accountable to the members of Rocky Credit Union for governance of the credit union.

Alan Marshall – Chair

Alan and his wife emigrated to Canada in 1960 to begin teaching in Rocky Mountain House and they have resided here ever since. Alan has two grown children and two grandchildren. He has been a member of Rocky Credit Union since 1979. He was chairman of the board of Rocky Co-op for twenty years.



Carson Stewart - 1st Vice Chair Board Credit, Audit and Finance (chair) Committees

Carson is a life-long resident of Rocky Mountain House and has been a member of Rocky Credit Union since 1997. He is married and raising two sons. Carson has served previously on the Rocky Credit Union Board for 9 years and has completed the national CU Director Achievement program. As a previous employee of Rocky Credit Union, Carson  completed  the management-training program gaining experience in Consumer, Commercial and Agricultural lending. Carson currently owns/operates an oil and gas contract operations company.


Betts Kariatsumari - 2nd Vice Chair Board Credit, Audit and Finance Committees

Betts is both a long time resident of Rocky Mountain House and member of Rocky Credit Union. She has a university degree and has taken courses in business management, accounting, team building and director governing processes. Presently she is a receptionist, office manager and bookkeeper of her husband’s chiropractic business. She has served on Rocky Library Board, Municipal Planning Commission recently as well as school parent, sport, and art associated community groups.


Robert Bryant Board Credit (chair), Audit and Finance Committees

Robert was born in Rocky Mountain House and attended the University of Calgary.  He taught in the Rocky area for his teaching career, and he served on Clearwater County Council for 2 terms.




Mike Day Board Credit, Audit and Finance, Governance (chair) Committees

Mike has lived in Rocky Mountain House for 35 years, and is a member of the Rocky Credit Union. He is married and has raised 4 children in the community. He has worked for the Provincial Government, including 16 years as a Child and Youth Advocate. Mike is presently retired and, actively involved in the community. He is the Chairperson for the Rocky Public Library Board, and has various board experiences on an assortment of associations and local committees. Mike looks forward to this opportunity to support the Rocky Credit Union as a key financial institution in the community.


Tom Morgan Board Credit, Audit and Finance, Governance Committees

Tom is a controller with Rocky Co-op and has worked in the co-operative system for over 40 years.  He has been an office manager and general manager of a Co-op.




Robert Boodt Board Credit, Audit and Finance, Governance Committees        

Robert has been a member of the Rocky Credit Union for over 30 years.  His work experience has mostly been in customer service, first as a cook for 10 years, plumber for 20, and have also farmed for about 6 years.  Robert is presently retired and seeking to be involved on the Rocky Credit Union Board in order to contribute to Rocky Credit Union's strong presence and continuing success.
